WOW, long time no post!

I can't believe I didn't update the blog with my u/s results. We are having A baby!!! We saw one little baby and one little heartbeat. Baby J is so loved already.

Lately I have been really grumpy. My hormones are raging lately and the smallest thing makes me mad. I know my family would think that this is normal for me and nothing has changed, but it has. I can't help but be mad and I can't control it. I also cry when I think of Baby J's heart beating. It was so sweet to hear it for the first time. We go back on April 9th to see Baby J again and to hear the heart again. I can't wait.

Today Carrie is finding out her baby's gender. Any minute now I should get a text!!! I'm so excited for her.

One or Two? We will know soon!

Tomorrow we will find out if it's a singleton or twins. As much as time seemed to drag by when I was waiting for this appointment to come, as I look back now it seems like it flew by. Isn't that how it always happens?

I don't want to try to guess if it is one or two. Either way, just seeing a baby on the us screen will make me happy, no matter how many there are. I can't wait to see them and then carry around that u/s picture. I want a copy for a frame I have, the refrigerator, my purse, my desk, pretty much one for every place that I look regularly :)

Few days down, few more to go

This past Friday was my birthday. I had a good day at work and when I got home. Saturday we had a party for all the family. It was nice to see everyone again. I was given a lot of maternity clothes and some more decorations for the baby/ies room.

In 3 more days we will be able to adjust our vocabulary from baby/ies to baby or babies. At the u/s we will find out how many we are having and get a more exact due date. I'm really looking forward to the u/s!

Things I never knew about pregnancy

5w6d pregnant

You know, I know a lot of women that have been pregnant. I've talked to them about their pregnancies too. I've even read about pregnancy in a lot of books. I would have to say that about 6 weeks ago I thought I knew exactly what to expect during pregnancy. That is SO not the case! Here are a few little "symptoms" I've some to discover that no one has ever mentioned before:

~ The shooting pains (ligaments stretching)
~ Food tasting like different things (I had an avocado taste like Chloraseptic)
~ Insomnia preceded by sheer exhaustion
~ Forgetfulness

These are a few that I have noticed so far. Once I have more the list will go on and on.

Productive Day

Today we got the crib and mattress!!! We set the room up with the bedding and the decorations. Everything looks so good and I can't wait to get the rest of the furniture over the next 8 months.

I think I've calmed down a bit

I've had a full day now to let the 1st and 2nd beta sink in. I think I have come to terms with this being real and I'm allowing myself to be excited. We are so happy that we are finally pregnant and that it seems to be "the one". Here are some changes that have happened in the last few days:

- I'm very whiny in the evenings. I just need to sleep, that's all I'm asking for! Poor Justin has to put up with me. I was getting my feelings hurt the other day and he tried to blame it on my hormones. Hu...this is going to be a LONG 9 months!

- Did I mention I'm sleepy? I'm sleepy when I wake up, when I get dressed, when I drive, work, come home. Heck, I'm even sleepy while I'm sleeping.

- I'm always hungry! I can eat and then within no time I feel like I have to eat RIGHT then. It's the worst feeling to be that hungry.

- I'm nauseous. I feel sick in the mornings, afternoon and evenings. Its the worst in the middle of the night and when I eat. I would think food would help but it doesn't.

- I'm burping a lot! Not in a loud, gross way...I just burp for no reason.

- And finally...I'm not fitting into my clothes! I haven't gained any weight according to the scales but apparently you don't have to gain weight for your clothes to stop fitting. I'm out of shirts that aren't too short or too tight in the chest and I need some more pants that don't squeeze my waist.

Oh the joys of pregnancy....which I have in fact enjoyed every second of.

It's really, really, really real

I'm pregnant! My second beta is 661. Oh my gosh...what do I do now? I'm use to always wanting to have a baby...I've never thought I'd have to figure out what to do now....but...I'm speechless.

I'll post more as it sets in and becomes more real.

Beta #2 is Tomorrow

Tomorrow we find out our second beta number. It needs to at least double but I am praying for more than that! I think after you hit 2,000 you can have an u/s, at least that is what I have read. But some girls go in at 6 weeks, which I will be on my birthday!!! I would love to have the u/s that day.

WOW! God is Good!!!

293....very pregnant!

Beta #1 Day

I went in this morning at 7:30 for my blood draw. I'm feeling pretty nervous about the results. I should hear something by 3-4pm today. I hope they call with a HIGH number, one that will put my mind at ease until my second beta. I hate waiting! Although I had to wait for today to get here, it came faster than I thought. But this whole "results call" waiting period couldn't go by any slower. I will be updating my blog with the results later. As of right now I am 4 weeks and 3 days pregnant.

It happened again...

I got a positive home pregnancy test. I took two just to be sure. I am relieved that they were positive but still 'cautiously optimistic' until beta #1 & #2 are out of the way. Today should be interesting. I will be with my family most of the day and I will be hiding this huge secret. My mom is even spending the night tonight and I can't say a word. I think I'll do just fine though. I really think that in order for everyone to be ok with congratulating me I will need to be able to say that I know this will work out now. After two HIGH betas and possibly an u/s they will probably feel better, for my sake. I assume everyone is going to be scared of m/c again, just like we are.

I wish we could have told Grandad that we are pregnant again. But I kind of think he already knew. He was an awesome guy like that.
