Last week Deacon had his first taste of formula. Needless to say I don't think he will be making this his next favorite meal. He refused the bottle several times and has resorted to several night feedings with mommy. He is getting better about it but for now its a headache to deal with. I hate to make the switch but I have no choice these days. I want to get him use to it before I run out of milk all together*.
He is learning to mimic us and if we scream or cough he screams and coughs. He thinks he is so funny. He is also trying to crawl now. He can get up on his hands in the push up position but he can't quiet figure out how to get those little legs to propel him forward, however, he is great at going backwards. HA HA
*Despite a tremendous start to BFing, my supply has continued to decrease. I have tried water, Mother's Milk Tea, oatmeal, proteins and fat, Fenugreek and now I am taking Reglan that was prescribed to me by my OB. If this doesn't do the trick I will be retiring the pumps sooner that I had originally planned.

Deacon's 1st Hotel Stay
Saturday night we stayed at a hotel by the church. This was Deacon's first time to stay in a hotel. He looked so sweet in that big bed that we had to take a few pictures:

He was also had his first "big screen" debut this weekend:

Thanksgiving Thursday
Today I am thankful for the following:
1. For my mom. She came up here to work to see Deacon at Muffins for Mom and she brought me a nice surprise, a candy bouquet. Thanks mom, I love it! My hips will too!!
2. For Mother's Day...this is only the second year that I can be happy to see this day roll around. But I am so thankful that I get to experience this one with Deacon.
3. For caffeine - seriously! Thanks to Deacon's two new teeth I need as much caffeine as possible, since those little chompers keep us up a lot at night.
4. For Justin - my soul mate. I love him so much! I don't know if I could have put together a more perfect husband for me.
5. For my perfect little angel Deacon. I know every mother thinks her child is the best but mine really is. He is so calm and even tempered and very happy. He is pleasant to be around and he makes everyone smile.
6. I am thankful to be off work tomorrow to spend a little time with Deacon. Our friend Jonathan is getting married tomorrow (Congrats Jon and Lauren!) so I took the day off to get some things done. Justin is in the wedding and it would have been a stressful day if I was working and trying to do everything I needed to get done on my own.
7. In honor of teacher appreciation week I'd like to say how thankful I am for Deacon's three teachers, the childcare center director and the hearts that make it all possible (you know who you are).
Have a great Mother's Day weekend everyone!

Teacher Appreciation Week
Dun't fourgit dat dis weak is teecher apreshiachion weak. (If you can find the errors in that sentence, thank a teacher!)
Here is what Deacon has for his teacher's this week:
Monday Muffins - Mini muffins in little gift bags

Tuesday Treats - two of his teachers are pregnant so he thought they may want candy and chips.

Wednesday Wishes - A little good wish to carry with them.

Thursday is Truffle Day - see the bags on the far right?!?!?

Friday will be flower day if he goes, but it looks like he has a doctor's appointment that day so he may be missing that day.

April Showers Bring May Flowers?!?!?
Or just lots of flooding? This is the view from our garage on Tuesday after the heavy rain. Good thing I didn't really need to go anywhere.
