ashro
Ashro = The Astros = Deacon's favorite hat. Here he is eating his current favorite breakfast, organic whole wheat waffles and a banana.

its play time
the weather has changed and its actually pleasant outside. i figure i need to post about our great weather asap since it will be gone before we know it. here is deacon outside enjoying it :)

my celebrity friends
today deacon and i went to the woodlands mom's group in market street. the day was dedicated to kids and all the things that the woodlands has for them to do like play groups, mommy and me classes, swim lessons, boutiques, toy stores and so much more. deacon got to make a fruit loop necklace, play football and soccer, color, play with toys, see some of his favorite characters, and fish for ducks! it was so hot outside that we took a nice break in the shade with a jamba juice and relaxed for a while while we cooled down. after realizing that its really impossible to cool down outside these days we went to mimi's house so deacon could see mia.

call me domesticated
this weekend i got an itch to bake. that rarely happens so i jumped on it like white on rice and got in the kitchen. i have to say - i loved making these caramel salted cupcakes from the joy's hope blog i follow. everyone loves them and they were fun to make, so i'd say the recipe was a success at our house.
and then, if i wasn't already feeling like holly homemaker, i decided to try amy d's recipe for potato burritos. i think i misread something though...i bought 20 tortillas and planned to use some of the ones i had left from this weekend to make 24 tacos. i've already filled and wrapped 40 tacos - you think my measurements were off somewhere, lol?!?!
and to top it off i made playdough for deacon - someone remind me next time to only make 1/4 of the recipe - we have enough playdough now to last a lifetime.

a day fit for a boy
deacon and papa took an early morning ride on papa's kubota. deacon loves tractors so this was a great way to start his fun-filled day!

a shoulder ride with dad ended our fun day

our busy weekend
this weekend was packed with family, friends, and lots of fun activities. friday night we had a family dinner, just the three of us, at culver's. saturday mia and chris came over so deacon and mia could play in the water outside. then tina and carissa came over to play and we went to the mall with them were we ate at chick-fil-a before we rode the carousel. that night paige and javi came to spend the night. sunday we had a really busy day. first thing in the morning we all met up at the park and took family pictures. it was a surprise for mimi for her birthday. that was a lot of fun and we pulled of the surprise perfectly. before heading to lunch we ran to starbucks where we saw a special treat! a jersey that justin designed for the MS150 was being worn by a biker. of course, i had to get a picture to show off his work - after thoroughly embarrassing justin! then we had lunch with family and friends at olive garden to celebrate!
unfortunately our day ended on a sad note. my sweet friend gina lost her dad this week so my mom and i went to the funeral home for visitation. bill garton was such a sweet man that really meant a lot to me. it was so hard to go but i'm really glad we did. i'll miss you mr. garton - <3 george

the back of the jersey that justin designed (the guy sitting in the center) i took this picture from inside sbux before justin finally gave in and said i could go ask the guy for a real picture.
the guy graciously modeling the front for me :) love it! (at this point justin had high tailed it to the car to hide in embarrassment)

All Aboard
Deacon picked up a phrase this past weekend from Jackson that is too cute. Whenever I ask him to tell someone about the trains he played with he says "ALL ABOARD"
Labor Day Weekend
We spent our Labor Day in California with friends. We had such a fun and relaxing weekend that I was almost ready to stay another week - if we weren't missing Justin so bad :) Here are some pictures from our trip:
