Yesterday Justin and I were at the kitchen table just talking and I got out a pen and paper to jot down some numbers that I was looking up online. I don't know why I did it but I started a list of words Deacon is able to say. I guess when I take him to the pedi in 2-3 weeks I want to be prepared for the questions she always has. What new things has he started doing? How many words does he say? Does he follow directions? How much milk does he drink a day? Etc. So I started my list.
I have to say - either our kid is a genius or he just has an extremely chatting mom that he is trying to keep up with. LOL He says...are you ready for this...39 words! I wish I had the list now so I could show off a little (smile) but I don't. Let me see how many I can remember:
Names:
dada
deacon
brother
bubba
lana
mimi
pawpaw
mama
santa
Jesus
lilly
hannah
elijah
mia
nana
laura
jack

more
This is what I can remember off the top of my head. Even though some of these aren't clear enough for a stranger to always understand, when he says any of these, we know what he is saying. I guess all the talking to him and with him is really paying off. That and the fact that we make him say everything we say. "Deacon, you want a banana? Say Banana. Say Milk, sign milk, show me more, show me more milk. Say Cup. Say Please. Say Thank you." LOL Poor child, everything is a lesson with us. HA
That's great, Jen! I know you're such a proud mama!
